High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a type of decorative laminate consisting of numerous layers of Kraft paper impregnated with thermosetting resins and compacted with decorative paper and protective coating through the combined action of heat (140/150 °C) and high pressure for about 40 to 50 minutes.
As the name suggests, high-pressure laminate is shaped through the use of very high pressures, usually ranging from 70 to 100 bars or 1,000 to 1,500 pounds per square inch.
